Quote preparation guide
A few details go a long way. You do not need to have everything — we can help fill in the gaps.
Material & grade
Hot rolled, cold rolled, HRPO, galvanized or paint-friendly steel: include the grade and coating class if known. We can help identify the right product.
Materials & finishesThickness / gauge
Gauge is a quick reference. For critical fit or forming, confirm decimal thickness and the applicable tolerance.
Gauge chartSizes & quantities
Tell us sheet or coil, width × length × thickness, number of sheets or pieces, and estimated weight if known.
Weight calculatorCut size & tolerances
A rough-cut coil blank may include an agreed trim allowance. A finished cut-to-size order needs a separately agreed dimension, squareness and tolerance. Tight tolerances can affect cost and timing. Confirm on the quote; no blanket allowance applies.
Shearing equipmentProcessing & finish
Include shearing, leveling, safety edging, forming, laser profiles and appearance requirements.
Fabrication capabilitiesDelivery & timing
Pickup or delivery, ship-to ZIP, unloading arrangements and due date help us confirm a realistic schedule.
Delivery & logisticsDrawings & files
PDF, DXF, DWG, photos or a dimensioned sketch can help. Drawings are optional; send what you have.

MTR / mill test report
A mill report records specified test results and material identity. Ask whether certification and traceability are required before ordering.
Materials & finishesHeat number / traceability
A heat number identifies a steelmaking batch. Keeping that identity through processing may require agreed handling and documentation.
Materials & finishesG30 / G60 / G90
Zinc coating mass designations for both sides combined, not steel gauge. Actual coating mass may exceed the specified minimum.
Materials & finishesHot rolled P&O
Pickling removes mill scale; oil helps protect the cleaned surface during handling and storage.
Materials & finishesHardness / temper
Material condition affects strength, forming and tool selection. Specify the required grade or mill condition rather than assuming all steel forms alike.
Materials & finishesCut-to-length / cut-to-size / blank
Cut-to-length converts coil to lengths; cut-to-size specifies finished dimensions. A blank is a piece prepared for further work. Confirm dimensions and allowances on the quote.
Materials & finishesSquareness & tolerances
Squareness describes how closely corners approach right angles. Dimensional tolerances define agreed variation; confirm the requirements for your material and process.
